I was born on the tiny island of Nevis in the Caribbean. I left Nevis at an early age and grew up in the Bay area in California. I later moved to New York where I founded the sound systen Natural Vibes. After spending several years in Corporate America, I decided that Corporate America was no longer my dream. I moved to Atlanta in March of 2004 and established DaReggaeScene.com and later DaReggaeScene Magazine. Music and the Entertainment field has always been a passion of mine. I am currently one of the on air personalities at blazin98FM and Blazin98.com. My long term goal is to take my magazine to the International market in 2008. I CELEBRATE YOU TODAY MY FRIEND! It is said that different from the love of your family which is not chosen but accepted, Friendship develops like moss on the slippery edge of a creek; It emerges without warning having no date to remember and it just grows until one day acquaintance graduates into friendship and then ends up with a diploma called Love. Every Friendship from time to time undergoes adjustment and too often we throw away good friends because something went wrong and so we decide on our own that the relationship cannot be repaired. Have you done that? We never know the value and strength of a friendship until it is threatened. It takes a powerful bond to withstand the pressure and not be weakened by outside forces. A True Friend is someone who knows all about you and still loves you; someone who stands with you, honouring and affirming you, your marriage and your family. A True Friend desires for you to prosper in every area of your life and more so, in your relationship with the Lord. Isn’t that what you want from your relationship with your friends? To know that you will not be abandoned no matter what; to be yourself hiding nothing, not even your worst imperfections and know that your friends will not run out on you. Without any question, friendship is indeed a blessing and one of God’s greatest gifts to mankind. Today I celebrate you my Friend and challenge urge you to celebrate all that God has given to you in your friends.
I don’t know about you, but I know that God is too wise and loving to place our destiny into the hands of another person. It is definitely not His intention for another person’s action to control our future. Therefore, what you and I do from this point on is entirely up to us. The devil wants us to live in yesterday, he is always telling us what we cannot do or become, and his method is only to bring up our past and turn our attention backwards. But God is calling us today; He wants to sow in us a desire to move forward, and until we have a vision to move ahead, we will always be living in yesterday’s struggle. The very fact that we have a desire is an indication that better days are ahead of us. If we can only face up to our own sins and take hold of the hand of our Forgiving God, then you and I can overcome anything. We can overcome the past influence of any person or evil circumstances. We can live and not die.
I don’t know how God intends for you to defeat the devil this year. It may be a new business, a new Ministry, or just a volunteer position you are to fill. I don’t know what specifically is within you, but I do know it is great. I also do not know what opportunity God has given you, but I do know that it will be perfect for you. Maybe it’s an idea you have had for years but never pursued; or a dream you have held but have been afraid to voice; or even a drive that wells up in you from time to time but you never put it into motion. My friend, go ahead and use what God has given you, the devil cannot stand up against you. Whatever it is now is the time to bring forth the treasure that God has sown in you and today is your day.
